Will my private medical insurance cover me for the consultation fee?No. Unfortunately private health insurers do not pay for GP services.

Can IYASU Healthcare refer me to an NHS Specialist?Yes. Guidance from the Department of Health says: ‘Patients who have chosen to pay privately for an element of their care are entitled to receive NHS diagnostic tests free of charge as long as they are eligible”.

Will I receive a full or partial refund if I forget to come to my appointment or if I am late?No. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance, or no refund will be given.

How do I make a complaint?Please make your complaint as soon as possible after any incident which has upset you so that we can attempt to resolve any problems quickly. Can I have laboratory tests or x-rays?Yes we can do a full range of lab tests through one of the best UK labs with most results next day, We can arrange for Imaging from any provider including those outside of Edinburgh if that is the best place for you. This can be X ray, MRI scans, CT scans or Ultrasounds.

How do I pay for my appointment?Please pay online at the time of booking your appointment. Cancellations may be made up to 24 hours in advance.

How do I get a prescription?We can give you an online prescription for any pharmacy or have your medication delivered to your door, usually by the next day.

Who ensures that IYASU Healthcare is providing safe and effective care?In addition to being fully qualified medical professionals our doctors hold numerous post-graduate qualifications in specialist areas of healthcare. They undergo annual appraisals to ensure they are practicing up to date, safe medicine. Health Improvement Scotland ensures that our working environment is safe for staff and patients.

Will you share my medical information with anyone?We would like to share details of your consultation with your regular NHS GP as this improves the safety of your care. However, we can only do this with your consent. There are very few circumstances in which we would be legally bound to share information with professionals involved with safeguarding adults or children. This would only occur if a serious risk to others was identified.
