Passionate advocate of education for healthcare professionals and patients

I offer comprehensive GP services including all usual NHS primary care services. I have a specialist interest in:
Dermatology: I have extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and managing patients with a wide array of skin conditions and I am passionate about improving access to good dermatology care in the community. I am a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society and regularly write educational articles on skin disease.
Women’s Health: I am an advocate of women’s health and have comprehensive experience of working in family planning, menopause and genitourinary medicine clinics. Being a perimenopausal, working mother of 4 children myself, I have personal insight into the unique challenges faced by women and will always deliver empathic, holistic care.
Child health: I have a diploma in child health and have completed a fellowship in paediatrics. I am also a mother of 4 children. I can advise on developmental milestones and manage a vast range of general medical conditions both acute and chronic.
-
Please note that I am not trained in child psychiatry and cannot assess for neurodiversity.
Rheumatology: Prior to training as a GP, I was a specialist registrar in rheumatology. I can provide assessment for inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue disease as well as perform joint injections for symptomatic relief.
Medicine for the elderly: I love working with older people and very much enjoyed my hospital posts in geriatrics and the East Lothian hospital at home service. My mum sadly has Alzheimer’s disease, giving me a personal understanding of how patients and families are affected by dementia. I can provide a holistic and pragmatic approach to managing multiple co-existing chronic conditions, frailty, and polypharmacy (many medications).
